Announcement: New TIG Leader for the Urban Education TIG

The European Teacher Education Network (ETEN) is pleased to announce that Michel Hogenes will join Rosa Rodrigues as the new leader of the Urban Education Thematic Interest Group (TIG). Michel frequently attended ETEN conferences and symposiums since 2005 (Macedonia).

He currently serves as a treasurer of the ETEN Board and has previously been TIG Leader of the Arts Education TIG and substitute TIG Leader for the Internationalisation TIG.

Professionally, Michel is a principal lecturer in music education and pedagogy at the teacher education programme of The Hague University of Applied Sciences, and the Master of Operational Leadership in Performing Arts at Lucia Marthas Institute for Performing Arts in Amsterdam. Two universities situated in highly urbanised settings. His expertise in inclusive and culturally diverse learning environments makes him an interesting match for the Urban Education TIG.

Michel is enthusiastic about working alongside Rosa to further strengthen the TIG’s collaborative work, research exchange, and professional dialogue. He is also looking forward to the inspiring contributions that will be shared during the upcoming ETEN Spring Symposium in Vlora, Albania, in April 2026.
