Publications Details
Manuscripts submitted to JETEN will, after having been selected by the editor and examined by the editorial committee, be subject to the scrutiny of two independent reviewers. Great care will be taken in order to preserve the integrity of the peer review process. Based on the reviewers’ recommendation, the Academic Editor will decide whether the particular submission is accepted as it is, revised and re-submitted, or rejected.
Articles accepted for publication are uploaded continuously during the calendar year. Articles will be published as separate downloadable pdf-files with consecutive pagination throughout the year.
Submissions
Manuscripts for submission to JETEN should be written in english.
Please view Terms & Conditions for information about statement on exclusivity of publication, copyright, etc.
Since authors from a number of disciplines are invited to contribute to JETEN, and thus several traditions of style may be utilized, there are no particular style rules for manuscripts submitted to the journal. Consistency to the chosen style is important. Both Harvard and Oxford referencing systems are accepted, and great care should be taken to ensure that references are correct. Grammar and spelling should be immaculate.
Again, given the number of academic disciplines, the length of an article may vary. The maximum length, however, is 7.000 words, footnotes and references excluded. Manuscripts exceeding that length will be returned to the author/s for editing. The length may not be expanded during the review and revision process.
Manuscripts should be submitted electronically to the academic and managing editors both, as MS Word documents (.doc or .rtf). Since a blind review process is used to evaluate manuscripts, two versions of the manuscript should be attached, the original manuscript, and a modified version where all clues to the identity of the author is removed throughout the manuscript.
The original should include a cover sheet with title, name of author(s), institutional affiliation(s), running head, date of submission, as well as full mailing address, telephone number and e-mail address of the corresponding author. The cover sheet of the blind copy should contain only the title of the paper, and all notes, quotes and references to the author(s) should be removed from the manuscript.
Submissions should be typed with left justification, double spacing, and wide margins. Quotations should be distinctly indicated. Notes should be avoided, and, when used, should be defined as footnotes rather than endnotes. All references in the text should be identified with the author’s name and year of publication, and page number when appropriate, all within brackets. Please refrain from using “ibid.”, “op.cit.”, etc.
Submissions should include a 200–250 words abstract in English, setting out the key findings of the paper. 7–10 keywords, preferably words not appearing in the title of the manuscript, should also be submitted. Abstract and keywords should be placed on a separate page at the end of the document.
Terms & Conditions
Submission of a manuscript to JETEN implies commitment to publish in the journal, and acceptance of terms and conditions stated below.
Submission should be original manuscripts, previously unpublished in substantially similar form or with substantially similar content. Manuscripts should not be under consideration for any other journal at the same time.
Copyright to articles published in JETEN remains with the author, and is transferred to Eten Journal for exclusive online publication. Authors wishing to publish the article in other media subsequent to the original publication are free to do so, but are expected to inform JETEN and to acknowledge Eten Journal as the original source of publication.
Before full review, submissions are examined by the editorial committee. If the editor believes the submission has extensive flaws or is inconsistent with the mission and focus of the journal, both the editor and associate editors will review the case submission. The paper will be sent out for full blind review if either the editor or associate editors believes it warrants full review. The submission will receive a desk reject decision only if the editor and associate editors agree the submission does not merit full review due to extensive flaws or a lack of fit with the mission and focus of JETEN.
Manuscripts are anonymously and independently reviewed by two peer reviewers. Peer reviewers are external experts selected by the editors. The editors use the recommendations by the reviewers to decide whether the manuscript should be accepted as is or revised, or be rejected. The review process, including review, revision, resubmission and re-newed review, may take up to between six and twelve months.
