Today, we went on a school visit with the TIG in Hasselt and visited two different schools in the city center. First, a secondary school and then a primary school. The schools are located next to each other.

At the secondary school, the principal gave a presentation about the schoolsystem of Flanders and the school. The school’s educational vision is described everywhere in goals, and these goals are displayed throughout the school (see film).
After the presentation at the secondary school, we were welcomed by the primary school and were allowed to visit all the classes and ask questions to the teachers.

We were escorted to the school by two students from PXL. Jochem, Atheneum GO, Kleine Atheneum, and PXL: thank you for everything.

Update May 10th

She started by briefly presenting the framework created by Benjamin Ponet et al. (2023). This framework clusters practices used in teacher education programs to prepare student-teachers to teach a diverse student population into several groups of practices. During the session, she had us reflect on the diversity-sensitive practices and any shortcomings in our own programs.
