The 2025 Autumn ECO/TIG-Leader Meeting will be in Fort Worth, Texas – updated with Agenda

Agenda – final version

Message from Ashley Tull

Howdy ETEN Colleagues,

We look forward to hosting you in a matter of days in Texas. We’ve prepared a few updates related to the Fall ETEN ECO TIG Leaders Meeting. We hope that these updates will help you in completing your preparations for the meeting and your visit.

Instructions for Payment by Wire Transfer

Thank you for your patience in getting payments in for the meeting. We have attached instructions to assist many of you who have requested to make payments by wire transfer. All relevant information is attached for your payment processing.

TCU Football Game

The Texas Christian University (TCU) Horned Frogs will play the Southern Methodist University (SMU) Mustangs on Saturday, September 20th. For those that are interested, we have been given a price of $50 per ticket (down from the usual $125). Please let us know if you are planning to attend by Tuesday, September 9th at 5:00 pm (CST in the US). A start time has yet to be announced and we don’t anticattle on at least until early next week. Start times are generally between 11:00 am and 7:00 pm. If you travel home on Sunday, you would be able to make it for sure. Times are set according to television broadcast schedules. We need to know to be able to provide you instructions on how to purchase tickets. A link to the on campus stadium (46,000 capacity) is provided here: https://gofrogs.com/sports/2018/7/13/facilities-tcu-facilities-football-html

Provisional Schedule

A provisional schedule is attached. We hope that you will participate in our planned activities and have some time to plan any activities of your choosing. We will provide a final schedule upon your arrival. We’ll also clearly identify any changes that may arise, although we don’t anticipate many at this point.

Transportation, Locations and Parking

A map is provided as an attachment to this message for those that will rent cars and be seeking parking on campus. Locations for our meetings on TCU’s campus are identified. We’ve also included a list of ride share services available, as well as building addresses to assist you. Ride shares are more abundant than cabs in our city.

Cultural Activities, Shopping and Restaurants

We have a few cultural activities planned (included on our schedule) but would also like to provide a list of other popular and accessible activities in Fort Worth. We’ve also provided a few restaurant recommendations to assist you. All of these are near TCU and nearby hotels.

We look forward to hosting you in Texas. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Dear ECOs and TIG-leaders,

We look forward to see as many of you as possible in Texas!

If you’re going to Texas for the Fall Meeting, use the QR code on the last slide to answer a couple questions. Thank you!

Based on your survey feedback, a desire to create opportunities for ETEN members to visit their U.S. partners, in line with our history of having an Autumn meeting outside of Europe every 5 or more years in support of our non-European members, and to recognize the long-term dedication to ETEN of TCU and TVS, the Board has unanimously agreed to continue with plans to host the meetings in Fort Worth. Other than airfare and domestic transportation, we expect that all other fees will be similar to typical ETEN Autumn meetings (e.g., hotel, registration fee, food, etc.)

We know that some of you will be unable to attend, and we regret that there are no perfect solutions. We will post updates and share Meeting notes so that you can remain informed after the meeting.

A slightly old picture from Ft. Worth

Here are the details available now:

DATES: Sept 15-16 (OPTIONAL): Observe classes, school visits, possible lectures at Texas Christian University (undergraduate and graduate university) and Trinity Valley School (pre-primary, primary, and secondary school)

Sept 17-19: Meeting Dates (Arrive at TCU on Sept 17 by 3PM; Meetings end at around noon on Sept 19)

Sept 20 (OPTIONAL): Attend an afternoon/evening college American football game (TCU vs. Southern Methodist University)

We encourage you to consider visiting other partners in the U.S. to make the most of your time, perhaps coming to the U.S. prior to or staying after the meetings.

COST: The Registration Fee has not been set, but it will not be more than approximately 350 Euros

TRAVEL: Fly into Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW); Love Field (DAL) is also close for domestic flights, but DFW is closer to Fort Worth.

There is a train from the DFW airport to downtown Fort Worth ($6). However, public transportation within the city (including to the hotel near TCU) is extremely limited. We recommend several ETEN members rent a car and share the costs. Uber and taxis are also readily available. Some transportation may be provided by TVS and TCU between the hotel near TCU and TVS on Sept 15-16.

HOTELS: We are still confirming a list of suggested hotels near TCU at discounted rates. PLEASE NOTE: If you chose to stay in a different hotel, we will not be able to arrange for transportation to/from the hotel and TCU (meeting venue).

Cindy Savage and Ashley Tull of TCU and Michael Roemer of TVS are extremely excited to welcome y’all to Fort Worth! Stay tuned to registration updates!

Points for the agenda, September meeting in Texas

Hi all ECOs and TIG-leaders

Some of us will be together at TCU, Fort Worth, Texas very soon. And we are looking forward to that!

The Board is preparing the meetings with the participating ECOs and the TIG-leaders and we will have both joint meetings and separate meetings, as usual.

We write this mail to invite you all to collaborate in making a good and relevant agenda for the meeting.

So please – are there any ETEN-related, ECO-related and TIG-related subjects, you would like the Board to include in the agendas for the meetings?

Send your suggestions to secretary@etenonline-org, and we will include them in the agenda.
