Micro‑credentials Master Lab
19–23 October 2026 | PXL University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Hasselt (Belgium)
Online preparatory session: week of 28 September 2026
ETEN members are warmly invited to take part in PXL’s upcoming Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) for staff, focused on the Micro‑credentials Master Lab. This international programme brings together teacher educators and researchers to collaboratively develop an innovative joint course for teacher education.
Reclaiming Knowledge – Indigenous Education & Responsive Pedagogy.
Short description: This module challenges pre-service teachers to rethink the dominance of Western philosophies in education and embrace inclusive Indigenous worldviews that foreground community, interconnectedness, relationships, and holistic understandings of our world. Drawing on research that urges the inclusion of Indigenous knowledge to disrupt inequities and inspire meaningful, justice‑oriented change, this module empowers future teachers to value alternative ways of knowing and co-create culturally responsive methodologies. It also highlights the necessity of well-prepared teachers from indigenous an culturally diverse heritages, educators with strong knowledge bases, cultural confidence, and the pedagogical skill to collaborate with families and communities in bringing Indigenous concepts meaningfully into their classrooms.
International expertise & collaboration
The programme features contributions from:
- Universidad Técnica del Norte (UTN), Ecuador – two researchers and teacher trainers
- Queen’s University, Canada – three researchers and teacher trainers
All invited partners have extensive experience in Indigenous education and responsive pedagogy and have previously collaborated with PXL on international research projects. In addition, we are actively seeking new European partners and warmly encourage colleagues from ETEN member institutions to join this growing consortium.
