What happened in the TIG Internationalisation?

We look back on a great ETEN symposium at the University of Vlora – Ismail Qemali! First of all, we want to thank the hosting university for such a warm welcome and for all the help in realizing the programme within TIG Internationalisation.

This year, the TIG Internationalisation brought together about 35 participants representing 12 nationalities. For the first time, we also organised two school visits, which added a valuable practical dimension to the programme and created opportunities for meaningful exchange with local educational settings. The school visits were highlighted by many participants as one of the most valuable and inspiring aspects of our programme.

We were pleased to receive several proposals from participants, which contributed to a rich and engaging programme of presentations and interactive workshops. The presentations and workshops addressed a range of current issues within internationalisation in teacher education. They explored themes such as cultural diversity and what educators can learn from artistic perspectives, developments within Erasmus+ including Switzerland’s reassociation, intercultural learning through teaching practice and research collaborations between Japan and Europe, and the opportunities and challenges related to integrating immigrant teachers into European schools.

Throughout the symposium, participants highlighted the value of networking, informal discussions, and building new connections. Many expressed that they are leaving with new ideas, contacts, and motivation to further develop internationalisation in their own contexts.

We would like to thank everyone involved in the TIG Internationalisation for their participation and contributions. We are looking forward to next year’s symposium in Lund and invite everyone to already think about sending in a proposal, so that we can continue to engage in shared and meaningful discussions.
