Get acquainted with the TIG Internationalisation!

During the Copenhagen Fall meeting the TIG leaders decided to present their TIGs in short articles. Watch out for more presentations from the other TIGs.

The Internationalisation TIG in Leeuwarden 2024

As you learn more about the world and the people in it, it becomes clear how important it actually is that you know more about the world. We have to take care of the world together. At this point I have already become aware of the need to do my part.’

(Quote from a Dutch student in Teacher Education who studied abroad)

This quote sets the tone for what we aim for in the TIG Internationalisation. Globalization, multicultural societies and intercultural competencies are just a few examples of why internationalisation in Higher Education is important. Through internationalisation, our students and staff in Teacher Education can develop personal and professional skills as global citizens. It also increases the possibilities for exchanging knowledge and experiences through international, sustainable collaborations. There is so much we can learn from each other!

Within this TIG, which is one of the biggest in ETEN, learning from each other and connecting to one another is the main goal. The vision of the TIG is to facilitate the sharing of information, expertise, and resources related to educational aspects in multicultural societies among educators, teacher trainers, and professionals engaged in curriculum development, research, and educational policy.

Therefore, we would like to invite everyone to the TIG, who has an interest in internationalisation. In particular:

• International coordinators and international staff from teacher education

• Teachers who are interested in working with their students in an international context

• Teachers and researchers interested in international and intercultural aspects of teacher education

• Teachers who would like to share the outcomes of international collaborations and explore opportunities for future collaborations

We are looking forward to welcoming you to our TIG at the ETEN conference in May 2025 in Hasselt, Belgium!

  1. I thank you very much for sharing the pictures. I was wondering if you posted the picture in the conference at Vienna.
