In memory of Henning Kopart

Dear ETEN members.

I am very sad to announce that my former colleague Henning Kopart from KP, Copenhagen passed away on Friday, March 28, 2025, only one day before his 75thbirthday. Henning suffered from Alzheimer which became more and more severe by the end.

Henning was an engaged, hardworking, and significant colleague and friend of ETEN all the way from the founding of the network till his retirement in 2015. Henning was through all his years in ETEN the legendary TIG-leader of the TIG ‘Myths and Fairytales’ (now: Creative Storytelling). Since Myths and Fairytales was the first (and for a while, the only) TIG in ETEN back in the days, one can say that Henning was one of the founders of ETEN’s unique way of organising conferences.

I will remember Henning as a warm, funny, knowing, ingenious TIG-leader, colleague, and psychology lecturer with a big heart for international courses.

I remember Henning also for a lot of great one liners, like: ‘Remember, very soon this is the good old days’, ‘If you ain’t got a point, use a power point’ and ‘The worst thing about people with no self-insight is, that they do not want to admit it’.

May Henning rest in peace.

 Mikkel Høgsbro, chair of ETEN.

I will miss him a lot – a highly qualified academic, wise, funny, an unmatched teacher, always ready for a talk and always ready for a party – last in bed and last up.

My thoughts go to his family, not least his only daughter Ida.

  3. A brilliant man in many ways. I once heard him give a lecture which was so good that it changed everybody’s minds on the subject — including my own.

He cared passionately about facilitating the best possible growing conditions for the young. “An good childhood”, he would say with one of his one-liners, “is one that you don’t have to go into therapy over afterwards.”

Thank you to Mikkel Høgsbro for his fine obit.

    My condolences to his daughter,

    Troels Jensen
